Cynthia Hester Kaelin
May 13, 1958 – April 26, 2021
Cynthia “Cindy” Lea Hester Kaelin, 62, passed away peacefully on Monday, April 26, 2021 at home surrounded by her family after a 57 day fight with Glioblastoma Multiforme. She was born May 13, 1958 in Pine Bluff, AR, and was the daughter of the late William “Bud” Hester and Barbara Ladd Hamilton of Sheridan.
For the past 26 years she has been a dedicated employee to the State of Arkansas. The last 11 years were spent working for the Arkansas Department of Energy and Environment. She was also a licensed Esthetician, and loved all things makeup and skin care. She was due to retire April 30th and had many dreams of traveling with her sisters and spending time with her beloved grandsons.
Cynthia was a devoted single mother who would easily say one of her greatest accomplishments in her life was her only daughter, Kimberly Hunt, whom she loved with all of her heart. She had a love for the color pink, that first sip of coffee in the morning, and her beloved cat, Yeti, who was with her when she passed.
Cynthia is survived by her mother, Barbara and step-father, Paul Hamilton of Sheridan; two sisters, Carolyn Graham of Dardanelle, Linda and husband, Buddy Phillips of Grapevine; one brother, Michael and wife, Donna Hester of East End; daughter, Kimberly and husband, Alex Hunt of Maumelle; and two grandsons, Brady and Brooks Hunt. She also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews. She is proceeded in death by her father, William “Bud” Hester, and her beloved great-nephew, Oliver Cummings.
The family of Cynthia would like to thank Dr. John Day of UAMS, the UAMS Neuro Team, and the nurses and staff on H8 of UAMS for their dedicated care and compassion provided during her hospital stay. They would also like to thank Angel Gilbert and Lacy Lewis for the loving care they provided to Cynthia and her family. In addition, they would like to thank the caregivers from Mrs. Washington’s team – Joanna, Joyce, and Sky, and a special thanks to Kindred Hospice.
