Cynthia Braswell Warren departed this life peacefully on Tuesday, November 15, 2022. She has received her eternal rewards and is now resting with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Born Cynthia Renee Braswell to the late Jasper and Shirley Braswell, she was the oldest of four children, and she loved being the “big sister” to all her siblings. She loved all her family! Cynthia attended DC Public Schools most of her life and graduated from Paint Branch High School in Montgomery County, Maryland in 1977. She took numerous undergraduate courses at the University of the District of Columbia and Montgomery College in Maryland. Cynthia had an adventurous spirit and enjoyed many different activities throughout her life. As a young girl/woman, she was very competitive and loved to bowl, roller skate, dance and was an excellent pool player. Later in life she enjoyed playing Bingo, taking long walks and was a “foodie” at heart. She was the go-to person for baking cakes and making potato salad for any and every family occasion. In 1988 Cynthia married Anthony Warren and to that union her two greatest joys and accomplishments were born, Toni Marie Warren and Anthony Jerome Warren. She retired from the federal government, Consumer Product Safety Commission in 2013. Cynthia always maintained a great work ethic and received numerous awards and certifications throughout her career. Cynthia was a member of Resurrection Baptist Church for many years before relocating to Rocky Mount, North Carolina. She loved worshipping in the house of the Lord and always found a church home wherever she went. She truly loved the Lord and the reading of God’s Word, as well as writing and reciting her favorite Scriptures. Cynthia who was fondly called “Sue, and Cindy” was loved by everyone! She was a good-natured person and often enjoyed buying gifts for the people she loved. She was a gentle, caring soul even when life became difficult. Cynthia’s greatest achievement was her children, and she was extremely proud of them and her siblings. Despite the many mental and physical challenges Cynthia was faced with later in life, she managed to overcome many obstacles that would have stumped the average person. She still managed to have a full, productive and spirit-filled life. Cynthia’s legacy continues through her two children, Toni Marie, and Anthony Jerome Warren.
