Curtis Alan Paulson, 59, of Great Falls, passed away due to heart failure on November 16, 2016 in Great Falls.
Curt was born on January 9, 1957 in Williston, ND to Donald and Margaret (Barkie) Paulson. He was the youngest of four children. In 1958, the family moved to Great Falls which would forever be his home.
Early in life he came to know the enjoyment of the outdoors, regularly camping and fishing with the family, and going on hunting excursions with his dad and brother Ron. He could recite the tales of these and countless other adventures experienced later in life like poetry to his family, friends, or anyone who took interest in his magnetic personality.
Friends were like family to Curtis. All of those touched by him were treated to some of the best entertainment imaginable with his rare wit, outrageous humor, and keen understanding. Few knew that better than his close friends, Kevin Black, Rob Allen, and a great many others who got to know and experience so many wonderful adventures with Curt. The luckiest of them got to sit down at his mother’s table and enjoy meals and friendship that they would never forget.
The elk, deer, antelope and a good many turkeys will rest a whole lot easier now, and the fish won’t have to go quite so deep. He had legendary adventures (along with his brother) spanning from Montana to Alaska and Hawaii, living life to its fullest and making enough memories to last several lifetimes.
He was an amazing artist, making his living creating antler jewelry, buckles, knives and other items of the sort. His work was captivatingly beautiful and unique. Anyone who loved wildlife could appreciate it. He was a master of his craft.
From his beautiful singing voice to his friendly demeanor and comic relief, Curtis was an entertainer that made a lasting impression on anyone around him and he will be greatly missed.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Don and Margie Paulson; sister Colette Oyloe) Guida; uncles, Duane and Dude Paulson; beloved dog, Ceasar; and close friends, Tom Williams and George Allen.
Survivors include, his sister, Nancy (Randy Peterson) Paulson; brother, Ronald Paulson; nephew, Glenn Takala, all of Great Falls; niece, Andrea (Jordan) Friedman and their children, Lexi, Ally and Adalynn, of Spokane, WA; niece, Emily Creegan; and a great number of close friends.
