Curtis Lee “Curt” Greig, 73, of Jacksonville, died Sunday, June 11, 2017, at his home.

He was born June 17, 1943, in Cedar Rapids, IA, the son of John Durwood and Mary Kay House Greig.

He is survived by his wife, Sandra of Jacksonville; two sons, Jeffrey Greig of Overland Park, KS and Brian Greig of New South Wales, Australia; five grandchildren, Justine and Jessica of Overland Park, KS and Curtis, Ruby and Lily of Newcastle, Australia; two sisters, Jackie Ferrell of Milan and Margie (Steven) Kellerhals of Altoona, IA; his mother-in-law, Arlene Frahm of Clarence, IA; and several nieces, nephews, sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law. He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Bruce; and a daughter-in-law, Jill.

Mr. Greig was a 1961 graduate of Clarence (IA) High School and married his high school sweetheart, Sandy Frahm, shortly after. He then attended the University of Northern Iowa, receiving a degree in education. During that time he began work for the Carnation Company in Waverly, IA. After graduating, he chose to stay with Carnation rather than to pursue a career in teaching. He was transferred to Jacksonville, IL and continued with Carnation/Nestle for 35 years until his retirement in 1998.

Curt was involved in Boy Scout Troop 107 in Jacksonville and was a Webelos leader for Pack 103. He enjoyed all sports, trout fishing in Missouri, collecting sports memorabilia, and was a die-hard Cubs fan.
