Mr. Booker was born July 22, 1923 to the late Thomas and Mable Davis Booker in Morgan County, Alabama.  He made his transition to be with his Heavenly Father on Monday, July 23, 2012.

He accepted Christ as his personal Savior at a very young age. He united with the Bell P.B. Church, where he served as president for the Junior Choir, member of the Male Chorus and was a faithful Deacon of the church. He loved children and would gather them in his station wagon and take them around the community singing. He was a member of Widow’s Son Masonic Lodge #193. He was a quiet, gentle, humorous and loving person.  Upon his passing it was told that his last words between he and wife were,

“I love you, hallelujah.”

He was preceded in death by his parents, sons; Curtis Jr. and Donald Booker, three sisters, two brothers, two grandsons and three granddaughters.

He leaves to cherish his memory: a loving and devoted wife of 68 years, Beulah Powell Booker; daughters, Olivia Booker (Erskine) Brown of Athens, Danella Booker of Murphreesboro, TN, Annie Booker Williams of Athens, Willa Booker Orr of Decatur; sons, John Thomas (Murna) Booker and Samuel (Jeanetta) Booker of Decatur; daughter-in-law, Johnnie Mae Booker of Belle Mina;  sister, Sally Booker (Billy) Floyd of Pullman, MI, sister-in-law, Cora Booker of Chicago, IL;

ten grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
