Curtis Abraham Storle passed away Wednesday, November, 23, 2016 in Great Falls, Montana at Peace Hospice.
Curtis was born on February 12, 1931 to Henry and Benora Storle in Peerless, Montana. He went to the Joy Country School and attended high school in Flaxville, Montana. He joined the United States Marine Corp and served from 1952-1954 in North Carolina and Japan.
In 1956, he married Elizabeth Schmid in Cut Bank, Montana, and the newlyweds moved to Great Falls that same year. Their first child, Deby was born in 1957 and their second daughter, Linda was born in 1960. In 1965, Mark Curtis was born, but sadly only lived for 2 days after birth.
Curtis worked in seismograph from 1955-1956. He joined the Ironworkers in 1956 and worked as an ironworker and welder for more than 36 years. For about half of his career, he worked for Palmer Duncan Construction as a welder and the Steel Building Erection Ironworker Superintendent.
He enjoyed gardening, camping, fishing, snowmobiling, welding and woodworking, and was a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church, the Senior Citizen Center, and the Marine Corp League.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Elizabeth, his daughters, Deby (Ed) Gunter and Linda (Rick) Murr as well as 4 grandchildren, Aubrey (A.J.) Peterschick, Libby (Craig) Kahnke, both of Billings, Montana, Brendon (Iris) Murr, of Kent, Washington, and Daniel Murr of Great Falls. He is also survived by 5 great grandchildren and his sister Velma (Lester) Oakland.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Vernon, Harlan, and Teddy, sisters Margaret, Mavis and Joanne; son Mark and granddaughter, Clarisa Murr.
