Cruz Montezuma, Aguilar passed away of natural causes on Friday November 24, 2017 at the Comfort house in McAllen, Texas.

Cruz was born on May 3, 1926 in Dolores Hidalgo,GTO Mexico to Graciano & Gracian, Montezuma, in 1948 she married Florentino Aguilar ,and togetherthey had 7 children Paul (Carol ) Aguilar, Elva (Marcos) Villarrealof Boise Idaho, Maria de Jesus Kramer of Mountain Home Idaho, John (Flo) Aguilar of Buhl, Idaho ,Candelaria (Roberto) Gomez of Winnemucca, Nevada, Miguel (Lisa) Aguilar of Boise Idaho and Luis (Becky) Aguilar of filer Idaho .

Cruz and Florentino settled in Paul Idaho in the 1970’s to raise their family and worked hard in the fields and later worked at Simplot’s in Burley, Idaho. Anyone that knew them knew what hard workers they both were and how Cruz was always by his side with one or two of the little ones in tow. Cruz was a wonderful loving mother and her children always looked nice, clothes were clean and hair brushed. Money was always tight, but her children were taken care of and loved by the best mom in the world . Her legacy of unselfishness and putting others needs before her own and her ability to always smile when times were hard have been passed down to her children and grand children.

Mom was always the peacemaker and never said a bad word about anyone. We all felt her love equally as she made each of us feel so special. No matter what time of day it was she would ask “are you hungry?” And whether you were or not you would say yes because you knew you were in for , delicious meal. Her tacos, menudo, enchiladas and tamales were some of our favorites and no one could cook them as delicious as mom. She lovingly made homemade tortillas sometimes 3 times a day for her family and never complained.

Florentino and Cruz loved to dance!! They were known for their wonderful dancing and every weekend they were out doing just that! And it was one dance after another, no rest! Mom never got a break to sit and she was grateful when he took a daughter or granddaughter for a spin so she could catch her breath! I can still see Florentino’s tongue out as he was going around and Cruz smiling and doing her best to keep up! Mom was , devout catholic and her greatest loves were God, the Virgin de Guadalupe and her family. If we only knew how many times each of us were in here daily prayers and were watched over so lovingly. Even if she was staying with one of us, we could always see her candles lit, Virgin de Guadalupe and the prayer beads held in her hands as she praised her love to God and Virgin.

She is survived by her husband Florentino of San Juan Texas, her 6 children in Idaho, 30 grandchildren, 50 great grandchildren and 4 great great grandchildren

The family would like to thank the staff at The comfort house in Texas for their care of our mom when we couldn’t be there. A very special thank you to Mari , our parents’ caregiver for the past few months. Our hearts cannot express to you how very much we appreciate all you have done for them.
