Crettie Lee Jacobs, the daughter of the late Luther James and Mandy Lee Jacobs Burney was born on May 6, 1948 in Bladen County. She departed this life on September 4, 2016, at Columbus Regional Healthcare System.
Crettie, also known as “Wink”, was raised in the Portersville Community and graduated from Booker T. Washington School. She continued her education at Bladen Community College and earned an Associates Degree. She enjoyed her career as a healthcare worker until her health declined.
She was a member of New Beginnings Holiness Church in Clarkton, NC under leadership of Pastor Leona Cromartie.
She was preceded in death by her son: Robert Burney; her brothers: Thomas J. Burney and Rudolph Blanks; her sister: Sandra B. Monroe and her nephew: Charles Monroe III.
Surviving to cherish her memory are her daughter: Tangela N. Graham (Felix); one grandchild: Aireyell Graham; two sisters: Pastor Leona Cromartie (John) of Council, NC and Brenda Burney of Clarkton, NC; one brother: Alphonso Burney (Gloria); one sister-in-law: Theresa Burney of Ammons, NC; one brother-in-law: Charles Monroe II of Council, NC and a host of loving nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
