Craig Steven Zapatos, aged 70, passed away peacefully on Friday, February 11, 2022 in Destin, Florida, while in the company of his loving wife, Margaret.
Craig graduated from Robert E. Fitch Senior High School in Groton, Connecticut in 1970 and continued to the University of Connecticut, Avery Point and Storrs campuses to receive his bachelor’s degree in Psychology in 1974. During his high school and college years Craig worked part-time in Groton at Leiser Sound, the Ski/Tennis Shop, and as a security guard with his father, Severino Zapatos, at Electric Boat/ General Dynamics.
Craig’s joys were his wife, sister, friends and family, his work, tennis and skiing. Craig is survived by his wife, Margaret Zapatos, sister, Inez Zapatos McCarthy and husband, Jim, and his nieces and nephew, Colleen, Genevieve and James. Craig was preceded death by his parents, Severino and Jennie Zapatos, and brother, Phillip Roy Laflesh. He will be greatly missed.
