Craig Antuan Hinson was born in Cheraw, SC, on October 26, 1970, to Margie Hinson Watson and Lennis Roberts. Craig was the third born of five children. He departed this life and transitioned into glory on August 31, 2015 at his home in San Diego, CA.
Craig, affectionately known to family as “Tippy” graduated from Chesterfield High School in June 1990.
Craig was a loving, father, brother, uncle, and friend. Craig was a very witty and fun loving man, and made everyone laugh as he loved to reminisce telling stories of “old times” and was truly a joy to be around. He loved to dance, play basketball, sing, eat “Hot Tamales” candy and spend time with friends. Most of all he enjoyed the time spent with his son Jaylen. They spent many weekends together going from gym to gym traveling to Jaylen’s AAU basketball games. He loved the west coast and on trips home to SC would talk of how he truly enjoyed and took full advantage of his life here.
Craig was preceded in death by his younger brother, Kelvin Watson. He leaves to cherish his memory his former wife Tamara Black, two sons: Jaylen Hinson of San Diego, CA and Jamel Brown of Cheraw, SC, his mother Margie Hinson Watson of Greensboro, NC, and beloved aunt Georgiana Hinson of Cheraw, SC. Also left to cherish his memory are his siblings, Monita Hinson-Houston (Vince) of Irmo, SC, Darrell O. Hinson Sr. (Tonia) of Newport News, VA, Deirdre Watson of Greensboro, NC, Victor Roberts (Cynthia) of Marietta, GA, Wanda Sheilds of Cheraw, SC, La Donna Strong of Columbia, SC, Lynnethia Roberts of Columbia, SC, Reva Brennan (Duane) of Irmo, SC. Lynntesha Henley (Edward) of Headland, AL his uncle Tony Hinson (JoAnn). Three nephews Vincent Houston Jr. (VJ), Darrell Hinson Jr. (DJ), Devin Hinson and one niece Kevonya Watson as well as many cousins, friends and co-workers. The family will recieve friends on Tuesday,Sept. 22nd, at Anderson-Ragsdale Mortuary, 5050 Federal Blvd from 5pm-8pm.
