Courtney Nicole Bloodworth, 32, passed from this life and entered into the arms of her Heavenly Father on April 21, 2023. Courtney was loved by so many, and completely adored as wife, mother, daughter, sister, and friend. She died at her home in Louisburg, North Carolina, surrounded by her family.

When Courtney was given the diagnosis of terminal lung cancer five years and four months ago, she made a choice: to fight hard, and to live each and every day with intention. On both the good days and the hard ones, she chose to love her family well, to speak Truth from Scripture to her boys, and to be present with them, savoring each and every moment and memory. She treasured her relationships with her mom and her sister, often laughing that her mom was her first call every time she got in the car, regardless of how many times she’d spoken to her already that day. Courtney emphasized the goodness of God at every turn, and always proclaimed her trust in Him.  She could often be found celebrating the little moments in life – dancing around the kitchen island with Chase and her boys, laughing with friends outside in the sunshine, or cruising around on the golf cart next to Chase, Cross and Brooks.

Courtney attended East Carolina University, where she became a Registered Nurse and, more importantly, established many of the friendships that she held so dearly until her passing. She worked on the Orthopedic floor at Rex Hospital for four years before transitioning to a Certified Case Manager with United Healthcare until her diagnosis, at which point she stepped back to focus on treatment and precious time with family.

Courtney is preceded in death by her father, David W. Thomas. She is survived by her husband, Charles “Chase” Bloodworth, their two sons, Cross and Brooks Bloodworth, her mother, Pamela Rapp, her sister and brother-in-law, Michelle and Patrick Fischer, her grandmother, Mary Rapp, her mother and father-in-law, Sara Lynn and Mark Bloodworth, her sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Elizabeth and Tyler Seitz, three nieces, Gweny, Alana, and Kaylee Seitz, several aunts and uncles, and many dear and close friends.
