Cory Rich Collins died on Saturday, December 7, 2019 at his home with family and friends.

Cory came into this world as a Sagittarius and left under the same sky.  He was born on December 16, 1977 in Winnipeg, Manitoba, a member of the Saulteaux First Nation.  At age two, Cory began his travels with a Canadian Via train ride to his new home in Williamsport.  Cory continued to travel extensively during his short life but always called Williamsport his home.

Cory graduated from Williamsport Area High School.  He was a talented artist, had a passion for music, and enjoyed the art of partying.

His infectious smile, kind heart, sharp witted sense of humor, and keen awareness of a person’s essence endeared him to his family, his friends and to those whose paths he crossed on the road and rails.  Cory acquired the nickname Sunshine, which perhaps is the most concise and accurate description of his nature.

Cory held many jobs in Williamsport and on the road, but he would describe himself as a traveler.

Cory is survived by his parents, Michael Collins and Danna Rich-collins, his sister (the BEST sister ever as he described her) Megan Collins , his nephew Xavier (being his uncle was Cory’s favorite role), and a brother Sy Collins.  He left behind an extended family of aunts and uncles, cousins and family friends.  Cory is also survived by a cadre of friends from coast to coast.

Cory had a special love for animals and while his own had predeceased him his nephew chocolate Lab, Trooper, gave him great joy in these last months.  Cory was predeceased by his grandparents William and Kathleen Rich, Harold and Kay Collins.

In remembrance of Cory, feel free to shed a little SUNSHINE on someone’s day or, as his buddy Ellen DeGeneres would say – “Be kind to one another.”
