On December 18, 2013, Corrine W. Beavin, age 86, passed away, after surviving a severe stroke for nearly three years. She was the beloved wife of Benjamin E. Beavin, Jr., loving mother of Eleanor B. Hoyt of Pittsburgh, Marcia B. Bennett of Timonium and Benjamin E. Beavin, III of Linthicum, and loving grandmother of Lindsay Rae Ledebur and Jenna Corrine Bennett.

Corrine was born on February 6, 1927 in Gayville, South Dakota. The daughter of Therman and Sophie Wetteland. She had five siblings, all deceased, namely, Myrna, Bernard, Winston, Dorothy and Therman. She received her school teacher’s education at Augustana College in South Dakota. She taught 1st and 2nd grade public school, in South Dakota and Maryland. She married Benjamin E. Beavin, Jr. in 1951 at St. John Lutheran Church in Linthicum and lived in Linthicum ever since. Her husband is a retired professional civil engineer.

Along with being a very good wife and mother, Corrine’s activities included softball as a girl, duckpin bowling, contract bridge, participation in the Meals on Wheels program and being a Sunday School teacher for St. John Lutheran Church.
