Cornelia Jarrett Parr, 85, of Collinsville, VA died on Thursday, July 05, 2012 at Blue Ridge Manor, Martinsville. Born in Henry County, VA on September 30, 1926, she was a daughter of the late Fannie Foley Jarrett and Brown Jarrett. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Alvery Parr. Mrs. Parr retired from teaching with forty years of service with the Henry County School System at Rich Acres Elementary School, second grade. After retirement she volunteered at Memorial Hospital of Martinsville and Henry County. She was a member of Bassett Church of the Brethren and a member of the Women’s Fellowship. Survivors include daughters, Gaylene Melchior and husband, Donald Melchior, Jr. of North Palm Beach, FL and Glenda Laudisio of Wenonah, NJ; brother, Ralph Jarrett and wife Lorine Jarrett of Collinsville, VA; grandchildren, Paul Ricci and wife, Marlo DiDonna, Beth Neese and husband, Travis, and Donny Melchior and great-grandchildren, Jacob Neese, Olivia Neese, Alec Ricci and Andrew Ricci.
