Corinne Ruth (Jorgensen) Jackson, age 70, went to be with her Lord and Savior on January 6, 2015. The daughter of Lester and Helen (Kilmer) Jorgensen, she was born October 23, 1944 in North Loup, NE. She passed away in her home in Derby, IA, where she and her husband, Richard Wayne Jackson had resided together for 47 years.  There were married on December 11, 1965 in Farnhamville, IA. To this 49 year union, three children were born:  Julie, Tony and Cherie.

Corinne attended the Farnhamville High School, graduating in 1962.  She then took some business and book-keeping classes to become a secretary, which she was working at, when she and Richard met.  She and Richard had a shaved ice business for many years called “R & C Tradewinds Shaved Ice”, which she worked by his side, assisting with shaving the ice and pouring the flavorings onto the shaved ice and doing the book-keeping for the company.

She enjoyed being a home-maker, sewing her kids’ clothing when they were younger, and making Richard’s shirts.  Her baking will be well remembered by her family.  She enjoyed bowling when she was younger – in the 1960’s and 1970’s.  While the children were young, she also enjoyed gardening, canning the fruits of her labors, making her own jellies and apple butter.  She and Richard enjoyed fishing together.

When Corinne wasn’t working around the home, some of her favorite past times were enjoying her 8 grandchildren, and 2 great-grandchildren, (with one more on the way), and playing her favorite video games:  Pac-Man and Bubble Bobble.

Preceding her in death were her parents.

She is survived by her husband, Richard and their three children: Julie Page of Lake of the Ozarks, MO, Tony Jackson of Derby, IA, and Cherie Cerveny of Jefferson, IA; her 8 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren; brothers:  “Pete” (Sherrill) Jorgensen of Gowrie, IA, Alan (Mary Seil) Jorgensen of Farnhamville, IA; and sister:  Elaine (Leo) Saliger of Farnhamville, IA.
