Cordelia E. Chambers Sylvester, 87, of Anderson, passed away on October 17, 2013, at Bethany Pointe Health Campus, Anderson. She was born on August 11, 1926, in Indianapolis and resided most of her life in Anderson.

Cordelia was a homemaker. She was a member of the Madison County Clerk’s Office as a GOP member of Absentee Voting for 20 years, Pink Lady at Community Hospital for 40 years, GOP Precinct Vice-Chairman for 40 years, Wright Extension Club, Beta Sigma Phi, receiving the 60-year diamond Degree, served as the secretary for the Madison County Women’s Club for several years and St. Matthews United Methodist Church. Codelia and her husband enjoyed dancing and traveling in which they visited all 50 states and abroad, spending time at their lake cottage, and fishing.

She is survived by several nieces and nephews.

Cordelia was preceded in death by her husband 64 years, Norval Denson Sylvester; her parents, George O. Chambers and Margaret Egbert Chambers.
