Corda was employed at as a seamstress at Cowden Manufacturing, a clerk at KY Gateway Development Center and retired as a teaching assistant at the MSU Learning Center, where she delighted in helping others earn their GED. Following retirement, she continued her efforts to serve others, sewing quilts with the SoSews, a local quilting group who sews quilts for those suffering from illness and/or disease and weaving beautiful quilts. Although she was always a hard worker, Jessie had a keen sense of humor and enjoyed sitting on her porch and watching the birds, deer, and other little animals. She was most happy, however, when surrounded by loved ones telling stories and providing meaningful memories that the family will treasure forever.
