Corbett Jason Finney, 50, of Belton passed away suddenly on Saturday, April 30, 2016 in a San Antonio Hospital.
Corbett was born on March 5, 1966 in Pampa Texas to Woodrow and Jeanette (Nail) Finney. His family moved to Belton from Canyon Texas in 1980. Corbett graduated from Belton High School in 1985. He attended Texas A & M where he studied horticulture. Mr. Finney entered the insurance industry in 1999. He co-owned and operated Finney Insurance Agency in Belton with his sister, Allison Finney Trevino since 2005, representing Germania Insurance Company, Safeco, Mercury and several other small companies.
Corbett was also a licensed realtor and member of the Temple/Belton Board of Realtors. He was elected to the Germania Farm Mutual Board of Directors in April 2015. He has also served on the Texell Credit Union Supervisory and Audit Committee. Corbett was also very active in the Bell County Young Republicans because he really enjoyed politics. Corbett’s biggest joy was his son Bruton. He loved watching him play soccer, eating lunch on Tuesday’s at Lakewood Elementary with him and lastly, he really loves playing jokes on his employees.
Mr. Finney was preceded in death by his father in 2002. He is survived by a son Bruton Finney of Belton, his mother Jeanette Finney of Temple, one sister Allison Finney Trevino of Belton and his fiancé Jalayne Perrin of Waco. Also included as survivors are his nephew Mason Trevino and niece Cinci Trevino, both of Belton, his Uncle Wilburn Nail and wife Rita of Lubbock, aunts Diana Quarles, Kathy Fritsche, and Pat Finney all of Temple. His Uncle Olan Finney and Aunt Rosetta Hoffman and husband Frank all of California.
All of his really cool cousins: Randy Finney, Rick Finney, Pamela Upton and Mary Finney all of California, Don Finney of Utah. Debbie Blodgett of North Carolina. Rachel Nail, Curtis Nail, Gary Nail, Darwynn Nail, Melissa McNew, Sonya Rhodes, Erick Quarles, Tim Quarles, Melonie Gallagher, Joshua Fritsche, Dale Finney, Connie Hicks, Deanna Quarles, and Jerry Finney all of Texas.
