Cora “Rose” Surpas Vance, 93, Anderson, died March 30, 2011, at St. John’s Critical Care after a brief illness.
She was born on January 19, 1918, in Philadelphia, Indiana, and resided in Anderson. Rose lived all her life in Anderson and retired from the Guide Lamp Division of General Motors after 30 years of service. She was a member of Whetstone Christian Church. She is survived by her son; Larry Vance’s wife, Carol of Anderson, and daughters; Nancy Duckworth’s husband, Mike of S.C., and Jayne Vance Pierce of Fishers. Eight grandchildren; Patrick, Jay, James and Trent Vance, Michelle Duckworth Wright, Michael Duckworth, Hannah, and Nicholas Pierce, and seven great-grandchildren. Also special cousin; Luella Riggins.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years; Bernard Vance, who passed away on March 31, 1997.
