Cora Mae Himelick, 85, went home to be with the Lord Monday evening, July 25, 2011, at Colonial Oaks Healthcare, Marion. She was born in Hampton, Arkansas, the daughter of the late W.C. and Daisy (Reynolds) Bass. She graduated from Tucumcari High School in 1944 and married Verlin Himelick on April 27, 1947.
He preceded her in death on March 27, 2006. Mrs. Himelick was a member of New Hope Baptist Church, Gas City. She enjoyed gardening, cooking, and spending time with family.
Survivors include three sons, Gary (Mona) Himelick, Marion, Darrell (Lisa) Himelick, Marion, and Terry (Mindy) Himelick, Upland; a daughter, Patricia (Curt) Campbell, Wabash; a brother, W.C. (Theda) Bass, Irvington, TX; 14 grandchildren; and 21 great grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Rex Edward and a sister, Louise Vance.
