Cora M. Cochran, 82, of Salem, Arkansas, passed away, Monday, September 16, 2019 at Elmcroft of Mountain Home.

She was born in Vanderpool, Texas on August 4, 1937, daughter of the late Abner Wilson and Lola Mae (Ward) Clayton. Cora spent her life as a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt, and friend. She was united in marriage to the late Bobby Rex “Cotton” Cochran and from this union four children were born, Clay, Beth, Carol and Betty. During her working years, she worked for NADC and was Fulton County Tax Collector for a number of years. Cora was a member of Salem First Baptist Church and was a volunteer for Fulton County Hospital.

Cora is survived by her children, Clay Cochran and wife Jackie of Salem, Arkansas, Nora Beth Gomez of Mountain Home, Arkansas, Carol Montgomery and husband Mark of Elizabeth, Arkansas and Betty Shrable and husband Kelly of Viola, Arkansas; nine grandchildren; Bobby Rex Cochran I of Puerto Rico, Sarah Williams of Salem, Arkansas, John Patrick Gomez of California, John Mark Montgomery and wife Jen of Little Rock, Arkansas, Kristin Martin and husband Kelvin of Memphis, Tennessee, Micah Montgomery of Elizabeth, Arkansas, Kirby Shrable of Conway, Arkansas, Abby Shrable of Viola, Arkansas and Kody Shrable of Viola, Arkansas; two great grandchildren, Brooklynn Martin and Beau Martin; sister, Leota Hosman of Utopia, Texas and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Bobby “Cotton” Cochran; parents, Abner and Lola Clayton; brothers, James Clayton, Harold Clayton, Abner “Slick” Clayton, Finis “Hooter” Clayton and sisters, Helen Schimmelpfenning, Bernice Kilburn and Addy Jane Chaney.
