Consuelo M. Jimenez, 94, of Hanover passed away at Fort Bayard Medical Center on Sunday, October 2, 2016.
Consuelo was born March 31, 1922 in Deming, NM to Everardo Marquez and Guadalupe Montoya. She married Pascual Jimenez Jr and together they raised seven children. Consuelo was a lifetime resident of Hanover and attended the Holy Family Catholic Church in Hanover. She was a member of the church choir and had a beautiful voice. Consuelo also participated in the Home Extension Club and volunteered to help with the election process. More important, Consuelo, was a homemaker and an excellent baker. Everyone raved about her famous pies, empanadas and asadero cheese. She was deeply loved and will be missed by her family and loved ones.
Consuelo is survived by two sons, Robert (Molly) Jimenez and Jose (Rita) Jimenez; two daughters, Priscilla J. Tena, Lucinda Torres; daughter in law, Nellie Jimenez; two brothers, Ramon (Polly) Marquez and Lorenzo (Natalia) Marquez; and one sister, Belia (Lorenzo) Cabrera. Also surviving Consuelo are 26 grandchildren, 59 great grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Pascual Jimenez Jr.; two sons, Pete and Gilbert Jimenez; a daughter, Gloria Jimenez; two grandsons, Arturo and Peter Jimenez and one great-grandson, Matthew Vega.
