It is with deep sadness in our hearts that we announce the passing of our 85 year old mother, Consuelo S. Herrera. She passed away on Thursday, May 10, 2012, at home while surrounded by her loving family.
Our mom was born on November 18, 1926 to Refugio and Maria Serrato in Visalia, Calif. She was raised with her brothers, Cuco, Louie, David, John (twin Jose who died 1 mo after birth) and Tino and her sisters Isabel, Jennie, Vel and Jessie ( Pochita)
She eloped with our dad George M. Herrera and moved to Oxnard, Calif. where she lived the rest of her life.
Our mother’s love and passion were her twelve children who she raised the way mothers back in her era raised their kids; All BY HERSELF.
