Constance Marie Lopez (Olivas)

1930 -2021

Constance Marie Lopez (Olivas) passed away on Wednesday, October 6, 2021, in Ogden, Utah attended by her son, Michael and her granddaughter, Shevon. She was born April 30, 1930, to Tomás and Pablita Olivas (Herrera) in Ault, Colorado and was the youngest of seven children. She married her beloved husband Anthony Joseph Lopez, September 21, 1949, in Greeley, Colorado.

Connie was a devoted believer in her Catholic faith and served alongside her husband Deacon Tony throughout the Salt Lake Dioceses within the Spanish speaking mission. She also served as the parish rectory cook and assistant with the establishment of St. James Parish in Ogden, UT. Additionally, she served as a catechism teacher, Den mother, Lector and was an avid member of the Altar Society.

Connie was passionate about family and loved each of her family members intensely, never hesitating to give them a listening ear and loving heart whenever needed. She loved cooking for her family and community, watching her grandchildren, playing card games, bingo, and dominoes. She had most recently learned how to use her new cell phone and Facetime and loved to communicate with her long-distance family members. But above her family, she loved her God. She was a devoted follower of Christ and prayed every morning and every evening, lifting up her loved ones to God and praising her Savior. Connie was an incredible example of God’s love and grace, and we are so grateful to have been the recipients of her beautiful love.

She is survived by her sons Michael James (Shelley) Lopez; Samuel Thomas (Cyndie) Lopez; Lucille Orcillia (Steve) Trevino; daughters-in-law Tina Pineida Lopez; and Victoria Butler Lopez; 29 grandchildren, 43 great-grandchildren, and 10 great- great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband Anthony Joseph Lopez, her sons, John Anthony Lopez and Dale Andrew Lopez, her parents, and siblings.

The family would like to thank Avamere Mountain Ridge Assisted Living and Symbii Hospice nurses and staff for all the care they provided for Connie.
