Constance “Connie” Jane Haas, 71, of West Des Moines, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on January 4th, 2022.
Connie was born in Omaha, NE to Anthony and Cecelia (Zoucha) Lassek. She was a caring and open-hearted daughter, sister, mother, grandmother, aunt, and friend. She never missed an opportunity to sing the praises of living and raising a family in the DM area during the past 40 years. Connie recently retired as the office manager of Physicians Eye Clinic after 19 years.
She had the courage to learn new things and take on any challenge. She always took time to listen and console anyone in need; known for small gestures that meant the world to the people she touched. Resourceful and determined, she rarely found a problem that couldn’t be solved with ingenuity and spare parts. Independent and active, Connie loved new experiences, especially attending live theatre. Above all, Connie enjoyed spending time laughing and making memories with her cherished family and friends.
Connie is survived by her children, Lindsay (Brad) Cohrs of Lunenburg, MA, Brandon (Jennifer) Haas of Ankeny, Jessica Haas of Jersey City, NJ; four granddaughters, Basil Cohrs, Loralei Haas, Aveline Haas, and Eliza Haas; as well as her two siblings, Bob and Ben Lassek, and many nieces and nephews.
