Constance Veronica “Ronnie” (Allen) Nucci, 93, of Newington and Haddam, CT, loving and devoted wife of Dino M. Nucci, passed away peacefully in her sleep the morning of Saturday, October 17, 2015. “Ronnie” was a graduate of Deep River High School, Deep River, CT and earned a B.A. in Library Science from Albertus Magnus College in New Haven, CT and was employed by the New Haven Public Library for many years. It was while attending Deep River High that Mom first met the man she always referred to as her “knight in shining armor”, her beloved Dino, with whom she shared over 66 wonderful years of marriage, had three beautiful children, and ten even more beautiful grandchildren and great grandchildren. Loving and devoted wife, loving and compassionate mother, loving and nurturing Grandmother and great-Grandmother, trusting and loyal friend, fabulous cook, curious neighbor…she was a lot of things to a lot of people but most of all she was simply a good and decent woman. As saddened as we all are by her passing we are all heartened by the blessing of having had Mom in all of our lives for so many years, and in the comfort of knowing she has been reunited with her many dear friends and family members that have passed before her. In addition to her loving husband, Dino, she also leaves her children: daughter Paula and her husband Stanley Zalewski of Newington, CT, son Richard and his wife DJ Nucci, of Biddeford, ME and daughter Elizabeth and her husband Daniel Keating of Newtown, CT., her grandchildren and their spouses: Jason and Marnie Zalewski of Southbury, CT, Sara and Joseph Sadlosky of Newington, CT, Christopher Nucci and Amy D’Amico of Kennebunk, ME, Marisa and Jeffrey Natale of Milton, MA, Patrick and Mary Keating of Palo Alto, CA, and Jaime Keating of Boston, MA, her great-grandchildren: Braydon and Bryce Zalewski of Southbury, Cooper and baby Ava Sadlosky of Newington. The family would like to thank the all staff of The Saybrook at Haddam’s Safe Harbor Unit, as well as Middlesex Hospice and Palliative Care for their care and support of Mom and our family.
