Constance A. “Connie” Burton, 100, of Louisville, KY, and formerly of Jacksonville, IL died Wednesday, October 12, 2016, at Parkway Rehab and Nursing Center in Louisville.
She was born February 3, 1916 in Frankfort, MO, the daughter of James and Nannie Reading Davis. She married Harold Burton and he preceded her in death in 1969.
She is survived by a son, Michael Burton (wife, Claudia) of Louisville, KY; five grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; five great great grandchildren; two nieces, Nancy Wright of Jacksonville and Karen Cook of Springfield; and several extended family members. She was preceded in death by five siblings, Jimmie “Lorene” Sheppard, Sarah Cook, Quilley Davis, Andrew Davis and Nathaniel Adams.
Mrs. Burton was a former child care worker and a member of Bethel AME Church in Jacksonville. She enjoyed playing Bingo and solving word puzzles.
