Connie Ferrell Upshaw, 74, of Newnan, passed away on Friday, November 8, 2019 at Piedmont Newnan Hospital. Connie was born on December 9, 1944 in Newnan, Georgia. Along with her parents, William Clifford “Doc” and Eunice Gill Ferrell of Newnan, she was preceded in death by her husband, Joel Eugene Upshaw, Jr. of Newnan.
Connie was a long time employee of Newnan Hospital and Beaulieu Convalescent Center in Newnan where she shared her loving kindness, helpfulness and her devotion to serving others. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Moreland and an avid reader who studied God’s word and shared about God with others. Connie enjoyed her time outdoors; planting and tending her beautiful gardens and cooking along with hosting numerous family celebrations at her home. She was blessed with two wonderful grandsons, Carson and Jackson whom she adored and loved watching play soccer. Her love for others and her sweet and gentle spirit will forever be missed by her family and friends.
She is survived by her daughter, Liane Upshaw; son and daughter in law, Jason and Alli Upshaw and her two grandsons, Carson Upshaw and Jackson Upshaw all of Newnan; sister-in-law, Alice Burgess & the late Billy J. Burgess of Moreland, and nieces and nephews; Jeff & Robin Burgess, Jack and Terri Lassetter, Greg & Bonnie Burgess, Nic & Kara Burgess, Lindsey & Andrew Collins, Andrew & Hilary Duke, Brylee Collins, Aspen Collins, Holland Burgess, Kelly & Wesley Whisenhunt, Stella Whisenhunt, Crosby Whisenhunt, Kacey Smith, and Bowie Smith.
