Connie was born November 1, 1945 in Carroll, Iowa to Everett Johnson and Joan Larsen and was raised and educated in the Gilmore City Schools. She was united in marriage with Hubert Vote on March 12, 1962 at the First Baptist Church in Gilmore City. The couple lived in Gilmore City the majority of their married lives where they raised their family, moving to Bradgate in 2003. Connie enjoyed cooking at the Gilmore City School and love seeing the kids every day. Connie was happiest when she spent time with family and having coffee with the girls. She also enjoyed going to the casino, old time country music and loved reading Amish books and learning about their customs. Survivors include her children: Dan (Cherene) Vote of Gilmore City, IA, Serena (Duane) Lathrop of Gilmore City, IA and Dave (Cindy) Vote of Gilmore City, IA, 12 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, sisters Vickie (George) Slattery of Mason City, IA, Nettie Allard of Des Moines, IA, Nancy (Roger) Bowman of Loveland, Colorado, Norma Bowman of Lanesboro, and her “Fur Baby” Mandy. Connie was preceded in death by her parents, husband Hubert, son Darrell and sisters Sherry Trenary and Donna Winker.
