Connie Sue Marter, 76, of Terre Haute, Indiana, passed away unexpectedly on December 12, 2022, at Union Hospital with her husband by her side.
Connie was born September 25, 1946, in Terre Haute, Indiana, the daughter of Elmer and Nora Fields. Connie started working at the age of 14 in a nursing home to help with family income. She was employed at Chesty Foods and then was self-employed doing housekeeping and catering. Connie enjoyed furniture restoration, crafts, and sewing, but her latest passion was playing bingo with friends at various venues. She also greatly assisted with raising of the step grandchildren and step great grandchildren.
Connie is survived by her husband: David Marter; seven siblings: Carl Fields, Ester Hedge, Elmer Fields, Donna Chapman, Lennie Fields, Barbara Williams, Gayle King; stepchildren; Charlie Marter and Chris Marter (Eva Marter); step grandchildren; Jamie and Chris Marter II (Jesse Marter); step great grandchildren: Landon and Briley Evans, Camdon and Ethan Davenport, and Eva Marter. She is proceeded in death by her parents: Elmer and Nora; siblings: Collen Shorter, Elnora Trainer (Mickie), Francis Fields, Andrea Frazier, and Tommy Fields.
