“It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Connie Dianne Marchman Jones on August 4,2017 at the age of 65. She was born in Newnan, Ga on October 14,1951. She attended Western High School graduating in 1969, and then went on to attend Berry College studying literature. When she returned to Newnan, she married her high school sweetheart Darrell Jones. They had 2 children and moved to their current home on West Plantation Drive in 1979.
She worked for the school system for many years and then for the U.S. Postal Service as a rural mail carrier. She was a talented artist and writer. She loved her children, her 8 grandchildren, and her 5 great grandchildren. Most of her time was spent at home with her “babies”, Wolf and Bella, her 2 Rottweiler dogs. When she wasn’t at her home in Newnan, she was at her beloved cabin in Sautee, Ga enjoying the mountains.
She is survived by her husband of 47 years, Darrell; her son Rick (Alisa) Jones, his children Rebecca Vaughan, Taylor Jones, Madison Cantrell, Grace Jones, Alexis Lankford and Gabe Barnett; her daughter Tiffany (J.R.) Tucker and their children Anna-Bryce, Jack, Riley, and Lucy Tucker. Great-grandchildren Caden, Bentley, Ellie Kaye, Grant Vaughan and Harper Kent.
Her brother is Mark (Darlene) Marchman and her sister Kathy Marchman. She was preceded in death by her parents Homer and Hazel Marchman and her father-in-law James Jones.
