Connie Lee Johnson, 80, was born in Anderson, South Carolina on March 21, 1943, to Richard Lee and Carrie Lee Johnson. He departed this life on June 26, 2023.
He attended Westside High School where he was third string on the boys’ basketball team. Connie relocated to Brooklyn, New York at the age of 17. He received his GED in 1982 and an Associate Degree in Applied Science in 1995. He also obtained a certificate of completion for an apprenticeship as a substance abuse counseling aide.
During his youth, he attended St. Paul Baptist Church until he left Anderson. Because of his love of writing, he wrote a fictional book about his life experiences. He was a vegetarian and felt everyone else should be. Connie had a good sense of humor. The people in his apartment complex describe him as pleasant and courteous.
Connie was preceded in death by his parents, Richard and Carrie Lee Johnson; sister, Betty Rice; brothers, Theodore Van, and Willie Cecil Johnson. He is survived by his daughter, Angela Carson; three siblings: Herbert (Betty) Johnson, Patricia Morris, and George (Marilyn) Johnson; and a host of nieces and nephews.
