Connie Lee Helvie Velez, 76, of Salisbury, passed away Friday June 8, 2012 at her residence.
She was born June 2, 1936 in Logansport, IN, a daughter of the late Ruth Carson and Raymond W. Helvie.
She attended Tipton Township High School in Onward, IN. Some of Connie’s hobbies included crafts and making blankets. She was employed as a bookkeeper with Century Place.
Connie was formerly married to Richard Velez.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by brother:Bill Helvie; sister Norma Helvie and brother-in-law: Larry Butcher.
Left to cherish her memories are sister: Judy Butcher of Lincoln, IN; niece: Tracey Newton of Battle Creek, MI; nephews: Tony Butcher of Lincoln, IN, Rob Helvie of Cedar Falls, IA and Steve Helvie of Singapore; great nieces: Victoria and Emma Helvie of Cedar Falls, IA; great nephew: Mike Newton and fiancé Kourtney Olmstead of Battle Creek, MI; great-great-niece: Layla Newton of Battle Creek, MI; sister-in-law: Nikki DeHaven of Walton, IN; and a host of aunts, uncles , cousins and close friends.
