Connie (Wilcox) Butterfield, a Colorado native, passed away peacefully at her home on February 22, 2021. Connie was born on April 8, 1932, in Burlington, CO to Kenneth and Irene Wilcox. She grew up in Burlington and graduated from Burlington High School in 1950.

Connie married her high school sweetheart Willard Butterfield Jr., in 1951 and they moved to Denver in 1955. They made their home in west Denver and lived in the Lakewood area since 1975.

Connie’s first job in Denver was as a teacher’s assistant at Goldrick Elementary School. She spent the majority of her career working at Southwest State Bank, eventually retiring as the head bookkeeper for the bank in 1993. After retiring, Willard and Connie joined the Square Halos Square Dance Club. They traveled with their dancing friends all over the country attending square dancing events, even setting sail on a square-dancing cruise.

Connie is survived by her two children Kenetha Mann of Lakewood and Mike (Ruth) Butterfield of Conifer; and her aunt Lucille Davis of Rapid City, SD. Connie is further survived by four grandchildren Justin Mann, Sarah (Galen) Phillips, Stefanie (Ishan) Chadha, Becky Butterfield; and three great grandchildren Colton, Gage, and Kylie Phillips.

Preceding her in death are her husband of 62 years Willard, parents Kenneth and Irene Wilcox, and her brother Jim.
