After battling cancer, Connie Jean Labrum returned to her Heavenly Father on Dec. 30, 2019. Connie was born September 21, 1954 in Ogden, Utah as the middle of 5 children born to Lawrence and Willa Olsen.

Later known as Mom, Connie Mommy, Nana, and, to some, The Big Bad Wolf, she was first a sweet, loving child who enjoyed playing with her dolls (Toodles and Tommy Toodles), spending time with her mother, and getting special treats with her siblings from the Sprouse-Reitz behind their house.  She was a meticulous and hardworking student, earning a scholarship to Weber State University as Ben Lomond high school valedictorian.  She and Doyle Labrum married in the Salt Lake City Temple on December 2, 1978 and had seven children—Troy, Tawnya (Kenny), Trent (Rachel), Tammy (Tyson), Terry (Melanie), Tracie (Ira), and Travis (Robert).  She cherished being a stay-at-home mom, cooking, sewing her children’s clothes, and providing vacations by selling homemade crafts.  She was later a Nana to nineteen and a “grandma great” to one.  She was an exemplar nurturer and will be most remembered for her warm sense of humor, her attentive presence, and her intricate homemade gifts.  Each year, she and Doyle visited neighbors, friends, and family dressed as Mr. and Mrs. Claus, bringing cookies and pillowcases she had carefully sewn.

Connie was a devoted member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.  She had served in numerous callings including Relief Society President,  Young Womens’ Counselor,  Primary President,  Temple Ordinance Worker, and many others.

Connie was preceded in death by her parents, Lawrence and Willa Olsen, and oldest son, Troy, who are surely comforted to be rejoined with her.  She is survived by a large family (including siblings, husband, children, grandchildren, and nieces and nephews) and her memory in the many, many other hearts she touched.
