Connie J. Devlin, 57, of rural Ashland, IL died unexpectedly Thursday, March 11, 2010 at the Argosy Casino Hotel in Kansas City, MO.

She was born August 20, 1952 in Beardstown, IL; the daughter of Russell “Sonny” and Dorothy J. Miller Milstead. She married and later divorced Larry Stucker. She later married Larry Devlin on March 9, 1991 in Ashland, IL and he survives.

She is also survived by two daughters, Karmen Knowles (companion, Donald Miller) of Auburn and Christine Newbern of Jacksonville; five grandchildren, Joshua Stucker of Ashland, Collin Knowles of Auburn, Taylor Newbern of Beardstown, Jason Miller of Auburn, and Desire Miller of Auburn; two brothers, Harold Milstead of Virginia and John “J.R.” Milstead (wife, Cindy) of Lake Zurich; and four nieces and nephews, Carrie Whitford of Palmer, AK, Eric Milstead of Boise, ID, and Jessica and Melissa Milstead, both of Lake Zurich. She was preceded in death by her parents.

Mrs. Devlin was a 1970 graduate of Virginia High School. She worked for a period at Bound To Stay Bound Book Bindery in Jacksonville prior to her over 30 year career with the US Postal Service in Bath and Ashland. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Virginia. A devoted fan of the Chicago Cubs, she enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and traveling.
