Connie Gandler was born July 8, 1954 in Covington Kentucky, and passed at her home in Flagstaff on May 25, 2014. Connie moved to Phoenix in 1958 and was raised there with her two sisters. She met Art, the love of her life at McDonald’s in 1970. Connie became Art’s boss at McDonald’s and he soon resigned to move into the furniture business.
Connie and Art were married in 1973 and the two honeymooned in San Francisco. Connie and Art relocated to Flagstaff in 1980 to open Gandler’s Furniture and raise a family. Connie and Art retired from the furniture business in 1997 to spend time with family and friends.
Connie was active in the community and her children’s activities including Continental Little League, Knoles PTO, Sinagua High School Athletics and Flagstaff Ski Team. Connie enjoyed traveling the world with her friends and family, and especially enjoyed vacationing in Hawaii and house boating at Lake Powell.
Connie loved visiting national parks and spending time outdoors taking walks and tending to her garden. Connie was a beloved Wife, loving Mother, wonderful Grandmother, and dear Friend. She took every opportunity to help others and always put the needs of family and friends ahead of her own. Connie is survived by her Husband of 41 years Art, eldest son Greg, his wife Laurel, grandson Lane, son Tim, his wife Kim, grandson Carter, daughter Katie and her husband William; sisters Pat Spindler and Kathy Martinez.
