Commodore L. Neeper, 88, died Monday, December 5, 2011, at Sycamore Manor following an extended illness.
Commodore’s wife of 49 years, the former Lethe C. Jackson, died March 4, 2005.
Com retired as chief accountant for Piper Aircraft in 1985 and had worked for Avco Lycoming and Hurr’s Dairy. He did many personal tax returns following retirement and was an active member of Memorial Baptist Church where he served on the board of trustees for many years. He was a 1941 graduate of Williamsport High School and a 1945 graduate and strong supporter of Wheaton College, Wheaton, Ill.
Born September 30, 1923 in Curwensville, he was the son of Oscar and Rachel Everett Neeper.
Surviving are daughters, Meribeth M. and her husband Paul Brooks Puckett Jr. of Alexandria, Va. and Karen L. Simpson of Atlanta, Ga.; grandchildren, Weslie L. and her husband, Thomas Joseph Woodley and Paul B. Puckett III and his wife Randi Lee, both of Arlington, Va.; a great grandson, Chase Redding Woodley; a sister, Rachel Leota and her husband Wilbur R. Weld of Minneapolis, Minn.; a cousin, Betty Harper of Conley, Ga. and nieces, Carolyne Sparling and Candy Rittner of Hamilton, Ontario, Canada.
