On January 18, 2021, Collin Daniel Sowell, loving son, brother and friend passed away at the age of 23. Collin was born on June 22nd, 1997 in Grand Junction, Colorado.

He grew up in Palisade, Colorado finding his love for baseball at an early age. He started playing at Palisade Little League and then moved on to play for the Mavs competitive team and finished with Orchard Mesa Little League making many life long friends along the way.

Collins natural love for hunting was undeniable. From play hunting in the house, to guiding others and everything in between. While hunting was always at the forefront, he enjoyed shed hunting, fishing, hiking, camping and he felt most at home in the great outdoors. The stories of his adventures would always leave you wanting more.

Collin attended Palisade High School graduating in 2015. While in high school he began his first job learning the art of taxidermy at Brumfield Taxidermy. Over the years Collin had various jobs including the oil field which allowed him to travel from Texas to North Dakota and many places in between but he always returned to his home in Western Colorado. This eventually led to him pursuing his dream job of being a hunting guide in Alaska for Tyrrells Trails and most recently in Meeker, Colorado at the Louisiana Purchase Ranch.

Collin is survived by his parents Bill and Katie Schmedeke, siblings, Spencer, Bobbie, Jason, Eric, and Elizabeth. Bonus parents Ross and Christine Smith, his father, Dan Sowell, grandparents, Larry and Elise Schmedeke, and Sue Pond. He is also survived by many aunts, uncles, cousin and many friends who became family. Collin is preceded in death by his grandpa Bob Pond.
