Clyde Lincoln Lancaster was born on March 24, 1926 in Kewanee, Mississippi. He left to be with the Lord on Tuesday, August 16, 2011. Clyde married Doris Whitehed on August 19, 1944 in San Antonio. They resided in Boerne for sixty years. Clyde worked for Civil Service and retired from Kelly AFB in 1983. He was a lifetime member of Boerne Turn Verein and a former member of the Boerne Shooting Club. He enjoyed bowling and shooting along with golf, fishing, and playing dominoes. He was also an avid wine maker. On many occasions he would entertain family and friends with a song. His voice had a distinct southern sound which everyone loved to hear. He also had an artistic touch with calligraphy. His cards were treasured by everyone for the beautiful writing. Clyde is survived by his wife, Doris; his daughter, Janet Schwarz and her husband, Ray of Boerne; his son, Clyde Arnold and his wife , Lorrie of Oklahoma City; his grandchildren, Janette Berkovsky and her husband, Jimmy of Shiner, Dot Schwarz of San Antonio, Stacey Hamlet and her husband, Ron of Porter, W. P. Lancaster, Michael Markell and his wife, Sarah of Fort Worth, Mathew Markell and his wife, Regan of Boerne, and Mandy Schratwieser and her husband, Matthew of Oklahoma City; great grandchildren, Randi, Emmalie, Clay, Cade, Wyatt, Connor, Jordan, and Gavin; sister, Polly Moreau of Boerne; many nieces and nephews. Clyde will be greatly missed by his family and friends and anyone who had the privilege of hearing one of his stories always told with a smile.
