Clyde Jones, 84 of Centralia passed away Wednesday, September 18, 2013 at Centralia Manor.

Clyde was born February 20, 1929 in Centralia, son of James Monroe Jones and Edna (Johnson) Jones. He married Jackie Renner in 1948 at the First Christian Church in Centralia and she survives in Centralia.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons: Steve Jones and wife Linda of Ellijay, Georgia and Terry Jones and wife Pam of Dix; a daughter, Lex Bitner and husband Mike of Springfield; seven grandchildren: Ryan Jones and wife Endia, Ron Miller and wife Jennifer, Jamie Jones and wife Monica, Tara Bousman and husband Bill, Shana Junkins and husband Doug, Kaitlyn Bitner and Dan Bitner and wife Stephanie; five great-grandchildren: Charlotte Jones, Naiya Jones, Anna Bousman, Will Bousman, Titus Junkins; a nephew, Mark Snider; a special sister and brother in law,Mary Lynn and Victor Dorris.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Treva Snider. Clyde was a beloved husband, brother, father, grandfather and great grandfather. He was also a cherished friend to many. Those who were fortunate to know Clyde, knew that he was a kind and generous man, always willing to lend a hand to those in need and one who, above all, cherished his family and church. Clyde led a spirited and laughter-filled life. He never passed up the opportunity for a great prank or a funny joke and always kept those around him smiling and on their toes. Clyde was an avid golfer and many of his friends recall great memories of hours spent with Clyde on the golf course. Clyde loved to fish and hunt and spent numerous vacations on, or near, the water, or otherwise exploring and enjoying the outdoors with his family.

Clyde and his wife Jackie spent many of their later years traveling to Florida, as well as visiting with friends from different parts of the country. Clyde had lasting and true friendships with many people from all walks of life. He will be missed dearly. Clyde had a close relationship with God and was a man of devout faith. All of those who knew Clyde take solace that he is now forever at peace.
