Clyde E. Bonesteel
Wynantskill Clyde E. Bonesteel, 91, of Sharpe Road, died Sunday at Samaritan Hospital Troy, after a brief illness.
Born in North Greenbush, he was son of the late Charles and Susan Wend Bonesteel and husband for 59 years of Olive G. Dickinson Bonesteel. He had resided in North Greenbush all his life and was educated at Troy High School and took accounting courses at Hudson Valley Community College.
Mr. Bonesteel was employed as a clerk for the New York State Department of Taxation and Finance for 10 years retiring in 1975. After World War 2, he worked at the Army Depot in Schenectady.
He was active in the First Reformed Church in Wynantskill, having served as Elder and Treasurer of the Sunday School and a longtime video operator for the television production of the church services. He was an Army veteran of World War II serving in the European theatre.
Survivors in addition to his wife include a daughter Lynne Dallas of Troy; three sons Clyde ‘Ted’ Bonesteel Jr. of Birch Harbor, ME, Ross Bonesteel of Latham and James Bonesteel of Stephentown; a sister Addie Ruth Timber of Wynantskill; two brothers Edgar Bonesteel of Roanoke, VA and Lester Bonesteel of Hot Springs, Arkansas; 9 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by two brothers Emerson and Francis Bonesteel.
