SgtMaj(ret) Clyde Douglas McBroom, age 85 of Huntsville, passed away Saturday at home. A native of Arkansas, he has resided in Huntsville since 1974. He served during the Korean conflict, the Vietnam War, and numerous other places before retiring from the Marines.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy McBroom and son, Robert McBroom.
Mr. McBroom is survived by his son, Randy McBroom; daughter, Tanya Griffin and husband Otis; six grandchildren Travis McBroom, and wife Chara, Tyler McBroom, Zak McBroom, Joseph Hammond, and wife Margaret, Joshua Grindstaff, Ashley Grindstaff, and fiancé John, and Clyde McBroom; six great-grandchildren, Ava Gardner, and husband Michael, Lily Hammond, Austin McBroom, Gabriel McBroom, Christian McBroom, and Zachary McBroom; two great-great grandchildren, Noah Gardner and Olivia Gardner; and numerous nieces and nephews.
