Our beloved father, grandfather, great-grandfather and great-great grandfather, Clyde C. Olson (Pa) (Harv) age 93 passed away peacefully at his home with his family by his side on April 29th, 2021.
Clyde was born December 28, 1927 in Afton Wyoming to Charles Afton and Cecil Cline Olson. He was raised in Smoot, Wyoming. He married Roma Shumway on Aug 30, 1948 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. They lived in Thayne, Wyoming where he worked in the Star Valley Swiss Cheese Factory. They moved to Utah in 1953 due to his employment on the Southern Pacific Railroad. He retired as B&B Foreman for the Southern Pacific Railroad in 1987.
Clyde was active in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, the scouting program and a long-time member of the Ogden 29th Ward. He loved hunting, fishing and outdoors and was an avid mountain man. He loved attending rendezvous and Alpine Mountain Days. He was a fun, loving, caring man and loved by all. He loved his family so much and always said “It is a poor man who can’t improve his stock”.
Clyde is survived by one brother, Paul Olson, his children Jerel (Carolyn) Olson and Arlene Olson Taylor; 7 grandchildren, 3 grand-dogs, 20 great grandchildren, 10 great-great grandchildren and 1 more on the way in June.
Clyde was preceded in death by his parents, his wife of 72 years Roma (Mema), 3 brothers:  Melvin Charles Olson, Donald Lavere Olson and Dean Afton Olson, 3 sisters: Arline Joyce Olson, Carol Cecil Olson and Wilda Fern Olson.
