Clotario S. Garcia, “Clay” 82, went to be with Our Lord and Savior on Sunday, July 3, 2016 at the home of his daughter Gloria in Santa Clara, New Mexico.

Clotario was born on July 8, 1933 in La Pasada, New Mexico to Augustine Garcia and Cruzita

Sandoval. Clotario moved to Grant County at a young age and began working at the Arsarco

Mines. He then enlisted in the United States Army where he proudly served our country. After being honorably discharged, he came back and worked at Ft. Bayard Medical Hospital as a cook. He later started working for the Town of Hurley from where he retired. He also served in the National Guard. Clotario was a very loving husband, father and grandfather. His passion in life was traveling with his wife Millie and dancing when given the opportunity. He loved hunting, fishing, picking chile and pinon. Clotario truly enjoyed playing his guitar, trumpet and accordion. He loved spending time with his family having cook-outs and gatherings. He will truly be missed by them dearly. We love you Dad, you left us with such sadness.

Clotario is survived by one son Gilbert Garcia “Doc” of Hanover NM, Debbie Jimenez of Las Cruces, Mary Jane Martinez and husband Fernie of Hurley NM, Gloria Garcia and companion Bobby Lucero of Santa Clara NM; one brother Adam Garcia and wife Carmen of Pecos, NM , two sisters, Josie Armijo of Santa Fe, New Mexico and Angie Delgado of Bayard, 12 grandchildren; a very special grandson “Jason Garcia”, Anthony Garcia, Chris, Daniel, Michael, Christina Garcia, Yolanda, Viola, and Carlos Jimenez, Evangeline and husband John Membrila, Manuel “Meme” Martinez and wife Antoinette and Elaine Martinez; 15 great-grandchildren Jason Jr., Alexis and Darla Garcia Aleena Garcia, Miyanah Venegas, Antonio Jimenez, Onti, Clotario and Manuel Holguin, Heather Jimenez, Manuel Martinez Jr., Sophia and Jacob Membrila, Elijah and Autumn Garcia. He was preceded in death by his beautiful, beloved wife of 50 years, Millie Perez Garcia, brother Marty Garcia and a sister Flora Sandoval.
