Clinton Jay Gressel, 88, of Nineveh, Indiana, passed away at his residence on Wednesday, April 14, 2021. Clinton was born on January 14, 1933 in Indianapolis, Indiana to the late George W. Gressel & Dorathy Lois (Keltch) Gressel.

Clinton was a graduate from Lawrence Central High School’s class of 1951 and later served in the United States Air Force. He was a proud veteran of the Korean War and was a bomber mechanic in the “Grim Reapers” bomber unit. He was a city council member of Southport, Indiana and was a member of the American Legion of Edinburgh, Indiana and the VFW. Clinton was a loving father and a wonderful husband. His greatest joy in life was spending time with his family. Along with creating memories with his loved ones, he enjoyed fishing at the lake and finding new pieces to add to his collection of buttons.

Clinton is survived by his wife of 65 years, Patricia Lee (Winkler) Gressel; his two daughters, Kathryn Lee (Dean) Anderson and Laurie Ann (Chris) Elmore; nine grandchildren, including Rachel Gressel whom they raised, and eleven great-grandchildren; his sister, Loretta Garver; his sister-in-law, Lynn Gressel.

Clinton was preceded in death by his parents, George & Dorathy, and his brothers, William Gressel, Donald Carr, and Jerry Carr.
