Clifton Donald Campbell, 87, a resident of Kenton Point Assisted Living and formerly the Sardis community, passed away January 30, 2015, at the Hospice of Hope Care Center at Kenton Pointe.
Mr. Campbell was born April 21, 1927 to the late Oscar and Artie Mae Campbell. One of three sons, Cliff is survived by his brother Stanley (Rusty) Campbell of Richmond, Virginia.
He was preceded in death by his wife Dorothy Hester Campbell, his son Gary Wood Campbell and his brother Dewey Campbell.
A graduate of May’s Lick High school, Cliff loved playing sports and at one time considered trying out for the minor leagues. He was an avid baseball and basketball fan and enjoyed rooting for the St. Louis Cardinals.
He is survived by his son Joe Campbell of Lexington, Kentucky, grandchildren Joey and Lauren Campbell, of Richmond Jake Campbell of Lexington,; nephew Steve Campbell of Salvisa,; nieces Laura Dho and Wendy Hoffman of Virginia;, and his step-children Allen (Brenda) Hester of Lewisburg, Sharon (Oweney) Owen of Mt. Sterling and Charles (Faylyn) Hester of Sardis. Surviving step-grandchildren include: Shane Hester, Shannon (Tony) Sweet, Ethan Hester, Michael Owen, Nathan Hester, Kirstie Mullikin and Jacob Hester.
