Clifford W. Foulon of Carlyle died Saturday, December 12, 2009 at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Breese, IL at the age of 93 years. He was born in Bond County, Illinois on January 4, 1916 the son of Gideon O. and Bertha (Broder) Foulon. He married Mary Thelma Goldsmith, and she preceded him in death.

Mr. Foulon is survived by a daughter: Merijean Webb and husband David of Oakland Township, Michigan; a son: Clifford Markam Foulon of Gary, Indiana; a sister: Ethyl Canner; and three grandchildren: Thomas A. Webb and wife Katie Soso, Natalie J. Webb and Jeffery V. Foulon.Mr. Foulon was an educator having served as the principal at District 144 in Markham, Illinois. He was a graduate of the University of Illinois and served the United States Navy during World War II. He was a member of the American Legion Post in Hazelcrest, Illinois, the Masonic Lodge in Henry, Illinois, the Illinois Retired Teachers Association and the Independent Order of Forresters.
