Clifford Sokolowski, 78, of Three Oaks, Michigan, died Tuesday, September 23, 2008 at his home surrounded by his family. Cliff was born June 6, 1930 in Chicago to Joseph and Anne (Brandys) Sokolowski. He grew up in Indiana, and after graduating from Rolling Prairie High School in 1949, he served his country in the US Marines.

On December 18, 1965, Cliff married Ellen Sheeley in Michigan City, Indiana. He was employed by United Beverage Company, retiring in 1989. Cliff was a member of the Randall Couchman American Legion Post 204. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, and mushroom hunting. He loved his family and coached his children’s softball, baseball, and Rocket Football teams, and was an avid fan of his grandchildren’s sports.

Cliff enjoyed life, polka music, being around people, and, as those who knew him well would tell you, he was quite the jokester. Survivors include his wife, Ellen; children, Cliff (Angie) Sokolowski of Galien, Michigan; Analinda (Ken) Gibson of Three Oaks and Brian (Theresa) Sokolowski of LaPorte, Indiana; grandchildren, Victor, David, Brittany, Nicole, Kenny, Kaden, Samantha and Amanda. He was preceded in death by his brothers, David and Al, and his niece Tina.
