Cleo Geraldine Anderson (Tate), the third “Baby Girl” daughter of the late Serena and Nathan Tate, was born on February 24, 1933, in Lexington, Mississippi.
Cleo departed this life on Tuesday, June 21, 2022, at the graceful age of .39 + tax.
Cleo was a faithful worshiper from an early age. She attended St.
Under the tutelage of educator Dr. Arenia C. Mallory, Cleo received formal education at Saint Industrial & Literary School, a private and reputable school in Lexington, Mississippi.
In 1951, Cleo relocated to Chicago, Illinois. At that time, she rekindled a courtship with her childhood sweetheart, Earl Anderson. In May of 1953, they united in holy matrimony. Unto this union, two children were born. Their daughter, Glenda Anderson and their son, Earl Anderson, Jr.
Cleo later attended Jones Commercial Preparatory School in Downtown Chicago, which prepared her to work as an Administrative Assistant to Radio Personality, “Big Bill Hill.” She then went on to work as a seamstress with the reputable ACME Coat Company, for the “Haves & the Have Nots.” Cleo retired as a dedicated and loyal employee, with high accolades and acknowledgements of 25 years with DUO-Fast Cooperation (now known as I.T.W.)

Cleo loved to entertain with foods from her homegrown garden.
Preceding Cleo in death, her late husband, Earl Anderson, Sr. of 41 years; her sister, Betty Williams (Joe); and Cornelia Suggs (William).
Cleo leaves to cherish treasured moments to her devoted daughter, Glenda Anderson; her loyal son, Earl Anderson, Jr.; her two granddaughters, Charmane Davenport, and Kimberly Davenport-Smith; her four great-grandchildren, Shavona Wrencher, D’Andre Davenport, Keion Smith, and Corrin Smith; along with a host of family and friends.
